Mórag McCafferty is a Donegal-based Scottish painter who rediscovered her art practice in recent years. Inspired by her beautiful Gaeltacht surroundings, she loves to recreate local scenes and capture events that have inspired her. Her passion lies in gut feeling and an overwhelming sense of exploring an idea or image and seeing where the journey leads. Morag’s recent work has sold globally and can be found in galleries and homes in New Zealand, the U.S.A., the United Arab Emirates, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and, of course, throughout Ireland.
Mórag also founded the hugely popular ‘Great Big Art Event’ held annually in Caislean Óir Hotel in Annagry. This is a major collaboration of local Donegal-based artists and attracts many visitors, providing valuable support to the artist community.
Reunion runs at the RCC Foyer Gallery until Saturday, 24th February.
