Donegal Arts Service has partnered with Donegal Travellers Project and the Regional Cultural Centre to present this intercultural film and photography project as part of Earagail Arts Festival.
‘SAN ROM’ is a short documentary that shines a light on the Roma community in Ireland with a heartfelt focus on those living in Donegal. Through deeply personal interviews and intimate scenes, ‘SAN ROM’ aims to reveal the rich tapestry and diversity within Roma culture while addressing the challenges faced day-to-day. This documentary amplifies Roma voices by showcasing their strength and resilience in the face of adversity. The project seeks to foster understanding and empathy, challenging stereotypes and advocating for a more inclusive society in Donegal, and across the country. It aspires to inspire empathy and drive positive change.
Join us on Thursday 25th July at 11.00am to watch “SAN ROM”, a documentary that invites you to witness the beauty of Roma culture and the resilience of its people, and to become part of a broader conversation about inclusion, equality, and shared humanity.
The documentary will accompanied by a photographic exhibition by Katie-Ruby McLaughlin Robinson from the 13th of July in the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny as part of the Errigal Arts Festival.
