Veronica Buchanan is a native of Buncrana, County Donegal. She studied Fine Art at NCAD, followed by a career in teaching art for thirty-five years. Retirement has allowed her to transition into a working artist with ease. In the past, she has exhibited in many galleries, both locally and nationally. In 2019, she held her first solo show in An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny

Veronica Buchanan’s work is firmly rooted in her personal experiences, connections, narratives, memories, and reflections—concepts that evoke emotional responses and serve as the foundation of her compelling work.

The exhibition includes earlier and current works in various media, including ceramics, textiles, drawing and painting. The artist’s approach to using different media stems from a drawing perspective. The pieces are a collection which has no beginning or end – just part of a journey, with a common thread.

Exhibition runs in RCC Gallery 2 until Saturday, 24 February 2024
