Support from Eoin Ferry

Maria McCormack is a singer/songwriter from Co. Donegal, Ireland. Maria has been songwriting since the age of sixteen. Maria released her debut album, ‘I Choose to Love’ in February 2019. The album received national and international airplay and reached number 3 on the RTE Radio One charts.

Having set up a GoFundIt campaign in 2020 for her second album, Maria McCormack is finally here with Matters of the Heart. It’s been a crazy three years for Maria, having fallen in love and having two more little girls and also sadly losing her mum, whom she cared for two years. The album tells stories of love and loss.

The album was produced, recorded and mastered by Billy Robinson in the Grooveshack recording studio in Ramelton, County Donegal and features a host of incredible musicians:

Billy Robinson – Bass guitars
Mick McCarney – Guitars
Pat Crowley – Piano, keyboards
John McCullough – Piano, keyboards
Laurence Doherty – Drums
Romel Parol – Drums
Peadar Coll – Fiddle
Sean McCarron – Saxophone
Mat Benson – Trombone
Laura McFadden – Cello
Rachael McGettigan, Jonathan Smeaton & Jack Smeaton – Backing vocals.

“she intertwines gorgeous melodies with wonderful lyrics.”
Eve Blair BBC Ulster

“the best 55 minutes of music you find anywhere. “
Noel Case Dublin City FM

” reminds me of Juliet Turner, and that’s no bad thing, a fine voice and good songs.”
John Creedon RTE radio 1
