Drawing from an eclectic array of influences – stemming from an early exposure to the rattling impact of 90s grunge and the visceral inventiveness of The Velvet Underground and Nico, to a later appreciation for shoegaze’s immersive soundscapes and storied country music by Lee Hazlewood – these elements colour Elaine Malone’s brilliantly expansive psych-rock material. Across Malone’s body of work, her magnetic presence, evocative lyricism and exhilarating instrumentation culminate in endlessly inventive compositions.

Born in Limerick, Malone has been immersed in Cork’s thriving DIY music scene for over a decade. The Thin Air magazine noted her “undeniable skills as a storyteller” amongst the many intriguing elements of her artistry that “mark her out as an important new Irish voice that demands close attention”.

Slow Place Like Home‘ is the music of producer/musician Keith Mannion.

Based in the forests of Donegal, in the Atlantic North-West of Ireland, he has already released a series of EPs and a debut album ‘Romola’, in 2015. The following year saw him release the double A-sided singles ‘Tiger Lilly’ & ‘Friday’ on special edition limited 10″ vinyl. Mannion’s sophomore album ‘When I See You… Ice Cream!’ has just been released on Special Edition 12” Vinyl and digital formats on Galway’s Strange Brew Rekkids.

He has played live shows with Fujita & Miyagi, Dan Deacon, Squarepusher, Perfume Genius, Day Wave, Ezra Furman, Moodoïd, Prince Rama, Glass Animals and Pantha Du Prince. And collaborated with luminaries such as Fearghal McKee (Whipping Boy) & The Cyclist (Stones Throw Records).

“One of the finest producers in Ireland and one of my favourite artists anywhere on Earth right now” – Stephen McCauley, BBC Radio 6
