Coming to the close of EAF 2024, and following Bassekou Kouyate’s performance, Earagail Arts Festival and the Regional Cultural Centre present a free late night of music across 2 venues on Letterkenny Main Street. Headlined by the pioneering DJ, photographer and filmmaker Donal Dineen, with Dublin-based Rwandan DJ, Big Cheeks, Sligo / Donegal collective Turn It On and special guests spinning everything from Afrobeat to electronica in the yards of The Cottage and Blake’s Bar.

Dónal Dineen’s Backstory Dances have gone from strength to strength recently with a storied

residency at the Commercial Rowing Club in Dublin continuing to hold down an exalted position

within the capital’s underground dance scene. Dónal’s extended Backstory sets are like alternative

guides to the musical universe with no stone left unturned, as he unearths gems from every musical hotspot the world over. He returns to the Earagail Arts Festival (joined by Sligo-based DJ collective Turn It On) for a Backstory special with an acclaimed run on the RTE Lyric FM show Vespertine under his belt and wind in his sails!

BIG CHEEKS is a Rwandan DJ based in Dublin who brings an infectious energy to any event with groovy and body shaking selections from Afrobeats, to R&B, Hip-hop, Dancehall, Balie Funk, Amapiano and much more.  Previously she has played at Beyond the Pale, All Together Now, Electric Picnic, The Museum Of Literature Ireland Summer Garden Party. You can find her at Yamamori Tengu where she plays sporadically, Lucky’s bar, and at many parties, big and small.
