10.00pm – 1.00am
Late-night electronica with:
multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Jasmine Wood, multidisciplinary artist The Fully Automatic Model, folk/electronica and audiovisual artist Porphyry, and the magical folklore-inspired electronica of Saoirse Miller.
The auditorium will feature the first live performance in Letterkenny from David Kitt in 15 years. David Kitt remains one of Ireland’s most quietly consistent musicians, whether it has been releasing music under his own name or as his electronic alter-ego, New Jackson. David Kitt has released 9 albums of songs under his own name. His latest album, Idiot Check, was released to widespread critical acclaim in 2022.
Anna Mullarkey is a composer and performer from Galway, weaving electronics with piano and voice. The Irish Times called her “phenomenal” and Irish Theatre Magazine classified her music as “if a sultry ménage of Björk/Billie Holiday/Philip Glass got together at the Wickerman Festival.”
Joining David Kitt and Anna Mullarkey in the auditorium will be Gareth Quinn Redmond whose work has continued to be inspired by the Japanese concept of Kankyō Ongaku, Environmental Music. This concept runs throughout Quinn Redmond’s approach to writing, which focuses on building and sustaining a connection between the listener and the environment.
The performances will continue late into the evening in the gallery space at RCC, where performers will include multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Jasmine Wood, multidisciplinary artist The Fully Automatic Model, folk/electronica and audiovisual artist Porphyry, and the magical folklore-inspired electronica of Saoirse Miller.
This event is supported by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media (Late Night Events Pilot Programme).
