Earagail Arts Festival in association with the Regional Cultural Centre presents

Voices & Harps – Moya Brennan & Cormac De Barra

plus Sarah Cullen & Bella Chipperfield

Moya Brennan and Cormac De Barra both come from large musical families in Ireland and their mutual admiration for each other naturally developed into a stimulating musical relationship, combining the simplicity, depth and beauty of the extraordinary skills which make them unique in their own field. Grammy award winner, Moya Brennan is the lead singer of Clannad. As well as having a successful solo career, she has sung on most of the world’s great stages and has collaborated with many notable artists including The Chieftains, Paul Brady and Bono. Cormac De Barra is renowned internationally as a versatile harp virtuoso. He continually pushes the boundaries of the Irish harp through his work with a wide array of artists, including Hazel O’Connor, Julie Feeney and Clannad.

Joining Moya & Cormac on the line-up is one of 2 special commissions for this year’s festival. Donegal native, multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Sarah Cullen is joined by Bella Chipperfield. Born into a musical family and having performed from a young age, Sarah’s style is exceptionally elusive to pinpoint – she blurs the boundaries between Country, Jazz, Blues and Trad and plays many instruments including piano, double bass and violin. A graduate of Royal Holloway University, harpist and pianist Bella Chipperfield is an experienced and highly recommended performer offering a wide repertoire of popular and classical music, with a range of musical commissions to her name. Sarah and Bella will be performing a set of their own music and new music written and composed collaboratively.
