Remnant – North-55

February 10 – April 4

Remnant was a brilliant cross-border public art project, which explored the working lives of the people who were central to the linen and garment industry in the Northwest. For over a century, these industries have been a major source of employment in plants across the county. Through oral testimonies, large scale photographic portraits and video recordings, ‘Remnant’, garnered a range of perspectives on the life and decline of an industry, and was complimented by a film, which included footage of factory buildings, people at work, and a wide range of participant’s narratives which epitomised an era.
