Throughout 2023, the RCC will invite electronic musicians, composers, alternative producers, and creative sound designers to take up residency in their new Sound Studio. Rather than a traditional record studio, it’s a creative space equipped with an iMAC PRO, audio interface, and a wide range of acoustic and electronic compositional tools including a baby grand piano, church organ, Moog One 16, SOMA Pulsar-23, Behringer Odyssey, Dave Smith Prophet Module, Arturia PolyBrute, NORD Stage 3 and many more weird and wonderful noise-makers.

The residency isn’t output-focused or public facing. Artists-in-residence can use the time to explore new project ideas and/or finish current projects. The minimum amount of time using the studio is 5 days, with no maximum time using studio facilities.

As well as the use of Sound Studio and its equipment throughout the year (during opening hours and when not already booked by other artists-in-residence) participants will also be granted an artist fee of €500-€1,000 (awarded by a panel). Applications are welcome from everywhere but the award does not cover accommodation or travel expenses.

To apply, e-mail Jeremy Howard on jeremy@regionalculturalcentre.com and include the following information:

1. Examples of recent work
2. A short bio about you (200-500 words)
3. A little information about the project or projects that you intend to work on during the residency (200-500 words).

The deadline for applications is 28th February at 5pm.
