A solo performance by Nashville based Mary Gauthier one of the finest singer-songwriters in the contemporary Country music scene. According to The Wall Street Journal “Louisiana-raised Mary Gauthier is one of Americana music’s most admired artists — across the U.S. and in her regular tours around the world”. And the Los Angeles Times maintains “her razor-sharp eye for detail and her commitment to unsentimental self reflection puts her in a class with greats such as Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and yes, Bob Dylan.” Gauthier had a difficult early life that involved drug and alcohol abuse, didn’t write her first song until she was 35 and then went on to produce 8 acclaimed albums over the past 20 years. Her numerous recording highlights include her third album ‘Filth and Fire’ from 2002, which was named “Best Indy CD of the year” by The New York Times. Her first major label release on Universal in 2005, ‘Mercy Now’ was on the top 10 list for the year in dozens of publications, including Billboard Magazine and she was awarded ‘New Artist of the Year’ by The Americana Music Association the same year. Her highly regarded sixth studio record ‘The Foundling’, released in 2010, came third in that year’s Los Angeles Times Album of the Year Poll. Her most recent release 2014’s “Trouble and Love” was described by No Depression Magazine as “the break-up album to end all break-up albums.” Mary Gautier has had her songs recorded by numerous artists, including Jimmy Buffett, Tim McGraw, Candi Staton and Bettye Lavette and her songs have been used in several TV shows, including ‘Nashville’ and HBO’s ‘Injustice’.
