March 4 – March 29
Mandscape was an exhibition of images of landscapes where man is present, or where man has left a trace on the landscape, and included urban images as well as rural landscapes. It featured work by ten leading contemporary artist from the visual arts collection of The Ark Children’s Cultural Centre, Dublin. Whilst focused on children, this exciting programme was also of interest to schools, teachers, parents, families and the general public. Mandscape was accompanied by workshops for children and school groups and a special artist-teacher seminar. An exhibition poster, essay guide for children, and exhibition catalogue accompanied the show. Mandscape was curated by Martin Drury, founding Director of The Ark, currently Arts Director of the Arts Council and consultant on children’s culture. The Ark was a research partner in the Arts Council’s Touring Experiment.
