Sougata Roy Chowdhury is a sarod player recognized as one of the most talented up‑and‑coming Hindustani classical musicians of his generation. Raised in West Bengal, he began training at age ten with sarod master Dyanesh Khan, son of the five‑time Grammy nominee and MacArthur Fellow Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, later continuing his studies with Dyanesh’s brother Aashish Khan and with sitar and surbahar virtuoso Pandit Santosh Banerjee. He has worked internationally as a performer and educator, touring and leading workshops across Europe, North America, and India, and has performed regularly for All India Radio Kolkata. His honours include a scholarship from the Indian Ministry of Culture and the Pandit Ravi Kichlu Foundation Golden Talent Contest award, as well as repeated invitations to the Saptak Annual Festival of Music, where he was named one of the best young artists of the decade.
Debojyoti Sanyal is from Kolkata, West Bengal and has studied tabla since infancy from his father Amelendu Sanyal and from esteemed virtuoso Pandit Shankar Ghosh. Debojyoti is a well-respected and sought after accompanist for Indian Classical music. He also has a variety of experience performing with African and Arabic musicians in the South of France where he is based part-time and also is a regular visitor to Ireland.
