A six-week intermiate course in oil painting that focuses on how photography can be used as a source for developing imagination and creating visual narrative. Ann will cover many different oil painting techniques – getting outside the traditional method of only painting with a brush.
Ann Quinn was born in Donegal in 1978 and received a BA in Fine Art Painting from the National College of Art & Design in 2000. Solo shows include Taylor Galleries (2025, 2023, 2021, 2018, 2016), Regional Cultural Centre (2024), Custom House Gallery & Studio (2019), Dock Arts Centre (2013), the Ashford Gallery (2009). Group shows include the Royal Hibernian Academy Annual Exhibition (2004-2024), It Took a Century: Women Artists and the RHA, National Gallery of Ireland (2023), Regard X: Celebrating the Outstanding Contribution made by women to the National Self Portrait Collection of Ireland, Bourn Vincent Gallery, UL (2019). One of her artworks was selected by writer Cristín Leach for her RTÉ commissioned ’21st Century Ireland in 21 Artworks’ series and the following exhibition as part of the Earagail Arts Festival, 2019.
