An Grianán Theatre is delighted to host two FREE lunchtime concerts at The Eatery Café as part of the Trad Week 2023 festivities with Glenalla up first.
Glenalla are an Irish traditional group from County Donegal featuring three musicians who have travelled the world playing Irish music – Noel Lenaghan (flute/vocals), Martin McGinley (fiddle) and Ted Ponsonby (guitar). Their programme mixes rare tunes from Donegal’s fiddle country with classic songs in both Irish and English.
Martin McGinley is a well-known Donegal-style fiddler. He has toured extensively in North America and in Europe, and has presented television and radio programmes on Irish traditional music.
Noel Lenaghan plays flute in the distinctive style of his native Belfast and has an extensive repertoire of songs in both Irish and English, including his own remarkable compositions. He has recorded several solo albums and has played professionally for many years.
Guitarist and dobro player Ted Ponsonby has toured internationally with Irish singers including Dolores Keane, Sean Keane, Frances Black, Tommy Fleming and Kieran Goss.
