Music Network presents international classical music stars violinist Francisco Fullana and pianist Alba Ventura performing together in Ireland for the first time.

Experience a captivating programme that includes timeless works by Bach and Mozart, alongside a vibrant collection of Spanish and Catalan music. Enjoy dazzling virtuoso pieces by the celebrated violinist-composer Pablo de Sarasate and immerse yourself in the evocative Sonata Española by Joaquín Turina.

The duo will also perform the world premiere of a new Music Network commission by Irish composer Gráinne Mulvey.

A native of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands of Spain, Francisco Fullana is a renowned soloist who has performed with orchestras and ensembles around the world including the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Spanish Radio Television Orchestra, Argentina’s National Orchestra and with noted conductors such as the late Sir Colin Davis, Gustavo Dudamel, Alondra de la Parra, Christoph Poppen, Jeannette Sorrell and Joshua Weilerstein. His awards include 1st Prize in Japan’s Munetsugu Angel Violin Competition, 1st Prizes at the Johannes Brahms and Julio Cardona International Violin Competitions, the Pro Musicis International Award and the Pablo Sarasate Competition.

Born in Barcelona, Alba Ventura made her debut as a concert soloist at the age of thirteen with the Orquestra de Cadaqués conducted by Sir Neville Marriner. A former ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation) Rising Star, she is a regular performer in Spain’s leading concert halls and has performed internationally as a soloist in prestigious concert halls including Wigmore Hall, St. Martin-in-the-Fields & Barbican (London), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Musikverein (Vienna), Cité de la Musique (Paris) and Svetlanovsky Hall (Moscow).

Both thrilling individual performers, the duo came together in 2023 to record and release Spanish Light music, which will feature in the programme.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear these exceptional musicians in what promises to be a truly special performance this November.
