Open Collection: An Exhibition in the Making
Exhibition
RCC Gallery 1, 5.00pm – 9.00pm

Open Collection brings together a selection of artworks from public collections across Donegal and places them at the centre of the gallery. Visitors are invited to spend time with the works, draw, write and respond to them, creating an evolving exhibition that asks what collections mean, who they belong to and how they continue to shape our understanding of the world around us.

PHASE SHIFT – Anderinna Gooch
Audiovisual Installation
RCC Auditorium, 5.00pm – 9.00pm

PHASE SHIFT is an immersive audiovisual installation by Irish composer and artist Anderinna Gooch. Presented in the RCC Auditorium, the work combines three films and sound compositions with synchronised lighting to create an atmospheric and ever-changing environment. Audiences are invited to move through the space, experiencing an interplay of sound, image and light.

The Rain Tells Us Everything
Exhibition
RCC Gallery 2 & Foyer, 5.00pm – 9.00pm

The Rain Tells Us Everything brings together the work of Catherine McDonald, Katie Nolan and Niamh Schmidtke to explore our changing relationship with the natural world. Through film, sculpture, sound and installation, the artists examine climate change, industry, ecology and the hidden systems that shape the landscapes around us.

Norman Gibson – Still Life Gola Island
Exhibition
RCC First Floor Foyer, 5.00pm – 9.00pm

Inspired by the landscapes of Donegal, Norman Gibson’s paintings capture the distinctive character of the county’s coastline, mountains and rural communities. Working in oil, acrylic and pastel from his studio at the Gibson Gallery in Lifford, Gibson is particularly known for his depictions of familiar local landmarks, including the iconic Bád Eddie shipwreck.

RCC Kids: Draw Yourself!
RCC Workshop 1, 5.00pm – 9.00pm

Draw Yourself is a free drop-in activity celebrating individuality, creativity and diversity. Visitors of all ages are invited to add their own features to a giant wall of colourful portraits, creating a collective artwork that reflects the many faces that make up our community. No experience is necessary – just pick up a pen and join in.

RCC Kids: Mini Cinema
RCC Studio 2, 5.00pm – 9.00pm

Step into our Mini Cinema, where we’re screening a selection of short animations from Ireland and beyond. Perfect for a relaxed family outing, our drop-in cinema offers a cosy space to discover inspiring stories. Suitable for all ages.

Donegal Youth Orchestra: Open Rehearsal
RCC Workshop 3, 5.00pm – 8.00pm

Join Donegal Youth Orchestra for a special open rehearsal on Culture Night with conductor and composer Vincent Kennedy. Featuring talented young musicians aged 12 to 19 from across the county, this dynamic ensemble is the longest-running group in the Donegal Music Education Partnership.
