Celebrate Irish language, music, and culture with a special concert by Cór Ailigh, the renowned Irish-language choir based at St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, County Donegal.
Marking their 25th anniversary in 2026, Cór Ailigh presents a rich and moving programme that reflects their journey over a quarter of a century, featuring traditional and contemporary choral works rooted in the Irish language and heritage. Under the direction of Anne Nicholls, the choir is known for its warm sound, expressive performances, and commitment to promoting Irish through sacred and choral music.
The choir performs regularly in Irish at the 10.00am Mass on the first Sunday of every month and is frequently invited to sing at special occasions throughout the region, including in Gaeltacht churches across Donegal. Their Mass is often broadcast on Raidió na Gaeltachta, reaching listeners nationwide.
Cór Ailigh has also gained significant national and international recognition. In June 2024, they were invited to perform at Mass in St Peter’s Basilica in Rome, and in March 2025 they sang at Mass broadcast on RTÉ. As part of their anniversary celebrations, the choir will travel to Glasgow for the June Bank Holiday in 2026 to perform in St Andrew’s Cathedral, Glasgow.
Joining them for this special Seachtain na Gaeilge event is Mokusla (Louise Rowland), now based in Glasgow. Mokusla’s music blends elements of electronica, dream-pop, and Irish folklore, creating atmospheric soundscapes that beautifully complement the choral tradition.
Together, these artists promise an unforgettable evening that bridges tradition and innovation, celebrating the richness of the Irish language through song and sound.
