Song of the Sea tells the story of Ben and his little sister Saoirse – the last Seal-child – who embark on a fantastic journey across a fading world of ancient legend and magic in an attempt to return to their home by the sea. The film takes inspiration from the mythological Selkies of Irish folklore, who live as seals in the sea but become humans on land.

We were delighted to screen the Irish language version of Song of the Sea made by Cartoon Saloon, and to have Brendan Gleeson and Fionnuala Flanagan reprise their roles for Amhrán na Mara.

Admission free. No booking required.

Amhrán na Mara(U)

Scannán Gaeilge gan fotheidil.(Irish Language Film with no subtitles)

Insíonn “Amhrán na Mara” scéal dúinn faoi Ben agus a dheirfiúr bheag Saoirse

-an Leanbh-Rón deireanach – a théann ar thuras iontach tríd saol atá ag meath,

lán de sheanchas agus draíocht ársa , iad ag iarraidh filleadh ar a mbaile cois

farraige. Tá an scéal seo spreagtha ag na Sílíní Rón i mbéaloideas na hÉireann,

créatúir a mhaireann mar rónta san fharraige ach a n-éiríonn ina ndaoine ar

thalamh.
