The Kinnycally Hall in St. Johnston was built by Jimmy Peoples, one of the great Donegal fiddlers of his time. His descendants number amongst the most famous Irish fiddlers. This concert will see a host of the best Donegal fiddlers and local musicians performing in support of the restoration project of Kinnycally Hall.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of traditional Irish music, featuring a stellar lineup of musicians who were close to the late Tommy Peoples or inspired by his artistry. Musicians that will feature include:
Danny Meehan
Tommy’s long-time close friend and TG4 Gradam award winner, Danny Meehan, will perform on the night. A member of the iconic band Le Chéile, Danny shared several of his compositions with Tommy, which Tommy later recorded.
Rita Gallagher
TG4 Gradam award-winning singer and a favourite of Tommy’s, Rita Gallagher, will delight us with a selection of songs from her vast repertoire.
The Glenties Trio of Peter Campbell, Tara Connaghan, and Fiona Gavin will showcase tunes from the Croaghs area, where Tommy first encountered the legendary John Doherty.
Paul Bradley
Armagh fiddler and renowned fiddle maker Paul Bradley will bring his dynamic and exciting style to the stage.
Paul Harrigan & Roisin McGrory
This talented sibling duo from Inishowen will captivate the audience with their uilleann pipes and fiddle duets.
Bríd Harper
One of the most gifted fiddlers to emerge from East Donegal, Bríd Harper, will honor Tommy’s legacy. Bríd, who was deeply inspired by Tommy’s playing, is held in high regard in the traditional music community.
Siobhán Peoples
A highlight of the evening will be a performance by Siobhán Peoples, Tommy’s daughter. Raised in County Clare but well-acquainted with Donegal’s rich musical heritage, Siobhán’s distinctive playing style reflects her father’s influence. An accomplished composer and performer, she also serves as a tutor at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick.
