To celebrate the Representation of the People Act, 1918, Donegal County Museum and Donegal Women’s Network invite you to come and be inspired by the women of the past and to join in a collective conversation spanning 100 years of women’s experiences. Join us for the morning session in the Regional Cultural Centre, where speakers will explore the story of women’s lives over the last 100 years. The afternoon session in Donegal County Museum, will include a tour of the Museum’s temporary exhibitions; ‘Jacob’s Biscuit Factory & Dublin: An Assorted History’ and a curated selection of Donegal County Museum’s exhibition ‘Oatfield – A Short But Sweet History’. The exhibitions explore the story of these iconic confectionary manufacturers and their impact on social, cultural and political life in the twentieth century. Following the tours, you are invited to take part in informal group conversations exploring issues affecting women now, particularly in the areas of work and political representation and to consider how we can continue to ‘Press for Change’ in the Ireland of today.
