The renowned Japanese pianist plays Bach, Debussy, Satie, Takemitu, McLachlan  
Satoko Inoue (1959 – ) is one of Japan’s leading pianists and has established an international reputation, in particular for her interpretations of contemporary music. She has premiered works by some of Japan’s foremost composers, including Jo Kondo and Yoriaki Matsudaira. She did a short tour in Ireland in 2014 with the support of the Japan Foundation. This included a concert of contemporary compositions in the RCC Letterkenny, as well as a recital in the Henry Field Room of the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Her programme for this visit includes works by some of the greatest composers for piano, including Bach and Debussy, as well as contemporary works from Jean-Luc Darbellay, Yuji Itoh and Donegal-based composer John McLachlan.
