Notions Presents: Murray Brothers
Featuring David Lyttle
Friday, 4th June 10pm
Notions presents another exciting online concert, featuring three very talented and renowned musicians on Friday 4th June, 10pm – Murray Brothers featuring David Lyttle.
Described by the Irish Times as, ‘two rising stars of the northwest’s blossoming jazz scene’, Falcarragh twins Micheal and Conor Murray are considered to be two of the rising stars of Irish jazz.
Born in the rugged, rural landscape of County Donegal Ireland, Conor and Micheal began experimenting with various different instruments in Irish traditional music like the fiddle, guitar, and tin whistle before settling on saxophone and double bass respectively at age twelve. They both developed a strong love for jazz music soon after and quickly began to develop a reputation around Donegal.
The Murray Brothers will release their debut album ‘𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝘄’ on the Lyte Records label on July 9th. Featuring and produced by MOBO Award and Urban Music Award nominated drummer David Lyttle, who has mentored the twins since meeting them as teenagers eight years ago, ‘Murrays Law’ joins the label’s catalogue of acclaimed albums by jazz icons such as Jason Rebello, Jean Toussaint and Ari Hoenig, and young stars such as Andreas Varady.
The Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny is proudly funded by Donegal County Council and Arts Council Ireland.
