Sligo musicians Kieran Quinn ( and Seamie O’Dowd (Mairtin O’Connor Band, Christy Moore, The Chieftains) have been carefully crafting their own sound for over two years now. Described by some as trad fusion, it also incorporates elements of jazz, blues and folk music. Two skilled musicians in their own right, neither of whom are in any way daunted by crossing musical genres with a moment’s notice, they have combined to produce a powerful and exciting musical force.

They will be releasing their debut album in the Spring of 2016, full of new and original songs and tunes.
Seamie O’Dowd is one of the most loved and respected musicians in this country. As modest as he is talented, this virtual one man band comes from a hugely musical family steeped in the musical traditions of South County Sligo. He is always in demand in musical circles in Ireland and beyond. He is an ever-present member of the Mairtin O’Connor Band, and also plays regularly with Christy Moore and the Chieftains. Seamie’s solo album ’Headful of Echoes’ is regarded by many as one of the classic Irish albums of the past few decades.
Kieran Quinn first came to national attention as the towering midfielder, who just happened to be a talented pianist, during Sligo GAA’s brief spell in the sun 10-15 years ago.
Long departed from the Gaelic games world, he has gained wide acclaim for his piano playing and compositions. His music is original and accessible, ranging in style from ragtime jazz all the way through to mainstream contemporary. Though largely instrumental, his two albums are augmented with songs sung by Kieran himself and some colleagues.
HotPress Magazine described his second album – ‘The Next One’ as ‘tasteful eclecticism’, and said it ‘showcases Quinn’s considerable abilities as a musician and vocalist’.
