The RCC is delighted announce Declan Devlin as one of our May RCC Virtual Artists-in-Residence.
Photographer, Declan Devlin is documenting the Letterkenny area during COVID-19 restrictions and will possibly even undertake a few doorstep portraits with residents.
“Apart from the portraits of local people, I photograph signage and things that will come and go fairly fast. I am also photographing a lot of litter left behind – disposable gloves and masks that people have discarded. I walk around a lot and people seem to be disposing of these things our of car windows.
“I am trying to bring a bit of joy, especially to the older generation. We engage and have the craic while keeping our distance. Next week, I will be doing more doorstep portraits and get the people to maybe dress up. I hear people saying they haven’t used make-up for months.
“I’m getting a good reception from people and many are up for the chat now that everyone has time,” Declan told Kate Heaney of the Donegal News this week.
We’re excited to see what Letterkenny man captures! Keep posted on further developments of Devlan Devlin’s residency on the RCC social media pages.
