The Regional Cultural Centre is delighted to be hosting a number of events as part of the second annual Cruinniú na nÓg.
Taking place all day tomorrow (Saturday), June 15, Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people under 18 working alongside Local Authorities around the country such as Donegal County Council.
Cruinniú na nÓg at the RCC will feature a variety of events for kids all ages, including a hand print pictures workshop suitable for children aged 0 to 8 years. Further events are outlined below.
Work in Progress – Contemporary Dance Preview
In this new physical theatre piece a young woman cares for a woman with a strange crippling illness. Through thrills and spills, the two find some kind of way of working together and learn that it’s never too late to be young.
This open rehearsal is a work in progress. Drop in for some creative inspiration. Featuring performers Aoife Toner and Margaret Hannon, this performance will take place at 2pm and last 30mins. Age 13+. MORE INFO
David Lyttle Group feat. The Murray Brothers & Joseph Leighton
Described by the Independent as ‘representing the best in jazz coming out of Ireland’, MOBO Award-nominated drummer David Lyttle is joined by Falcarragh-born twin brothers Micheal and Conor Murray, alto saxophone and double bass, who are currently finishing studies at the Royal Scottish Conservatory in Scotland and Derry guitarist Joseph Leighton who has studied abroad with some of the world’s greatest guitarists.
