Earagail Arts Festival in association with Out To Lunch Festival presents

The Agony & The Ecstasy of Steve Jobs

by Mike Daisey

Macbooks, iphones, ipods and ipads have made Apple the most profitable company in the world. For believers, Steve Jobs became a technological messiah and Apple the religion. The bitten apple icon is now instantly recognisable across the world yet how many of us ever stop to think about how these products are made? Where do they come from?

As part of a new partnership with Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, Belfast and the excellent Out To Lunch Festival, we’re delighted to present the Skewiff Theatre Company production of Mike Daisey’s ‘The Agony and the Ecstasy Of Steve Jobs’. Heralded by many critics as the best original American play of the year, this powerful, funny and engaging monologue, performed by Joe Lindsay, examines the ruthless genius of Steve Jobs and investigates the exploitative working practices within the factories used by Apple.
