Influences in traditional music, classical, jazz, rock and folk pepper and permeate the eclectic seven-piece sound.
Initiated in September 2010 with the objective of working the Catalan Countries’ folk music from a new perspective Riu are Influenced by the big bands of the new European folk scene such as Lúnasa, LAU and Felpeyu.
Calamity Gin and the Sour Tones is the creation of local vocalist Calamity Gin. Now joined by The Sour Tones – Fionn Robinson (electric lead), Emmet Toner (acoustic guitar/bass) and Ronan McConnell (mandolin) they create a truly musical feast.
