Twenty Fingers – Duo b!z’art

Sunday 9th November 3pm

Duo B!z’art from Belguim are a piano duet for one piano founded by André Roe and Geoffrey Baptiste in 2004. They regularly perform in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, United Kingdom and Ireland and they specialise in educational projects for young people. “Twenty Fingers”, specially designed for children between 5 and 10, combines fairy tales, with the music of the likes of Ravel’s Mother Goose and Tchïkovsky’s the Nutcracker. The piano invites us into the magical world of dreams, evocating pictures from Cinderella, to Beauty and Beast and Tom Thumb. By Bizarre (B!z’art) they mean what is unusual and unconventional and encourage their young audiences to discover with passion the world of music. Playing the piano with 4 hands, they use the 20 fingers of 2 musicians sharing the 88 keys of a piano. This provides a very entertaining show, where the hands intertwine on the keyboard with virtuosity. Sometimes the piano can be intimate, other times it becomes symphonic imitating an orchestra.
