Earagail Arts Festival in association with The Japan Foundation presents: Satoko Inoue

Pianist Satoko Inoue is renowned throughout Japan, Europe and the United States as a leading interpreter of contemporary solo piano music. She has premiered works by some of Japan’s foremost composers including Jo Kondo, Yori-aki Matsudaira, Yoritsune Matsudaira and Toshi Ichiyanagi and is known for recitals of works by contemporary composers such as John Cage, Morton Feldman, Henry Cowell, Luciano Berio, Giacinto Scelsi and Luc Ferrari amongst others. For this special concert as part of EAF 2014 she will perform a slection of Irish and Japanese composers’ piano works including Toru Takemitsu- Rain Tree Sketch 1 (1982), Jo Kondo -Tennyson SongBook (2011), Yori-aki Matsudaira – Historic Spots (2007), Yuji Itoh – Meletan (2013), John McLachlan – Nine (2012) and a new world premiere by Paul Hayes.
