The paintings of Donegal based artist Philip Moss, have an edge to them, both social and political, tinged with a rare, almost spiritual quality. For him, action and painting are one in the same – they are purely matters of conscience. In these ‘New Works’, he chose to paint testimonies to the victims of violent crime and to the disappeared. Such as ‘For Jo-Jo’ in reference to the disappearance of 21-year old Kilkenny woman Jo-Jo Dollard, who was last seen hitchhiking homeward in November 1995.
