Friday 1st November, 8pm

Grammy Nominated Nashville based Mary Gauthier one of the finest singer-songwriters in the contemporary Country music scene. According to The Wall Street Journal “Louisiana-raised Mary Gauthier is one of Americana music’s most admired artists — across the U.S. and in her regular tours around the world”. And the Los Angeles Times maintains “her razor-sharp eye for detail and her commitment to unsentimental self reflection puts her in a class with greats such as Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and yes, Bob Dylan.” Gauthier had a difficult early life that involved drug and alcohol abuse, didn’t write her first song until she was 35 and then went on to produce 8 acclaimed albums over the past 20 years.

Jaimee Harris is poised to become the next queen of Americana-Folk, a slightly edgier Emmylou Harris for the younger generation. Her new album draws comparisons to Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, and Kathleen Edwards – all writers who know how to craft a heartbreakingly beautiful song with just enough grit to keep you enthralled. Harris writes about the basic human experience, in a way that is simple, poetic, and often painfully relatable.
