Presented in association with Django Sur Lennon gypsy jazz festival.

Christophe Astolfi is one of the most charismatic guitarists of his generation. He played with Toots Thielmanns, Philip Catherine, Boulou and Elios Ferré, Florin Niculescu.

His album “Des valses” devoted to gypsy waltzes and swing- waltzes released in 2013, revealed him as one of the major representatives of this complex and sophisticated music.

His new album released in December 2018 devoted to the unreleased guitarist Pierre “Baro” Ferré makes the bomb strike in the world of gypsy jazz!

Thanks to his research work, almost “archaeological”, he brings to light ten “waltzes-bop” of Baro previously unknown to the public.

Baro Ferré’s music is not an easy task but thanks to his talent as an arranger, all the richness of his playing and thanks to the complicity of his three acolythes, he pays tribute to the creator of the “be-bop à trois” time “never realized.

The orchestration – acoustic guitar, Hammond organ, double bass, drums – make it a musical UFO unclassifiable.

Unclassifiable … but certainly recognizable!
